Bagnalls were thrilled to get an email today from the other side of the world. An ex-Bagnalls apprentice sent us a thank you message for starting him off on his painting and decorating career path some fifty years ago. Graham Dodd started his apprenticeship with Bagnalls in 1967, at our Ellesmere Port office.
He wrote “Dear Sir, just the other day I found my deeds of Apprenticeship and would like to thank your company for setting me out on the right path for a career of over 50 years. I now live in Brisbane, Australia and had a contracting business for 26 years, working on new housing and display homes. I closed the business last Christmas to retire. I thought my story may be an inspiration for the young lads just starting out on their careers. Thanks again. Graham.”
We think Graham’s story is an inspiration and testament to the benefits of starting life as an Apprentice. We hope Graham will be proud that Bagnalls are still committed to developing apprenticeships half a century later!
We understand Graham will be visiting us in August when he is next in the UK so watch this space for more updates!
