Southmead Hospital

05 September 2016

Bagnalls has completed the major painting programme of internal decorations to the Southmead 877 bed hospital, in Bristol. The works included decorative coatings and specialist hygiene finishes, all completed by our directly employed team of decorators.

We worked in partnership with main contractor, Carillion to deliver the painting works and ensure a defect free, quality final product. Up to 70 painters were working on site at peak times, applying coatings to a PPG Johnstone Paints material specification.

In total, 240,000 m2 of plasterboard walls were coated with PPG Johnstone Microbarr paint and further works delivered using CS Group Hygiene Coatings.

We invested in the training and development of our site based personnel to have 6 Black Hat supervisors, who completed the new 3 year Carillion induction, through Speedy Training.

In addition, as part of our Community Paintbrush scheme, we recruited a new apprentice from the workforce of Blue Sky, who was working on site as a labourer and had completed her Diploma 2 in painting.
