Bagnalls has the skills and competencies to carry out large scale refurbishment programmes, including the refurbishment of the site paths and surrounding areas to large operational sites, a key aspect of site safety across all utility companies.
During the course of the six-week programme, we were presented with numerous challenges. We were originally instructed to provide and price for laying tarmac, however, before the job was due to start we were asked to change the scope and lay concrete instead. We also had to ensure that the programme length, a key performance measure, determined by Severn Trent was still achieved, without affecting the day to day operations of the site.
To begin with we had to remove the excess pebbles from around the tanks. We then proceeded to break out the existing tarmac and in-filled any holes that were exposed and then re-laid the paths in concrete. Finally, we formed a new access road to the tank area on site.
Throughout this refurbishment project we were also instructed to carry out additional works in the form of re-bedding the loose coping stones around the tanks, raising various manhole chambers and rebuilding a pump kiosk.
