This is the first Community Paintbrush project completed, since Bagnalls’ were recently awarded Johnstone’s Trade Paints Community Spirit award.
Portico Vine A.R.L.F.C is a community based club in St. Helens, which encourages locals to take part in and enjoy the benefits sport has to offer. ‘The Panthers’, as they are known locally, use their base to provide a platform for young individuals from a whole host of backgrounds, regardless of their ability to play sport. The club embraces diversity in the community and meets the needs of all by offering particular support to individuals with ADHD, mental health problems and physical disabilities.
Therefore, in an area often lacking in opportunities, it is a beacon of hope, for up to one hundred and sixty male and female youngsters, ranging from 5 to 18. None of this good work, however, would be achievable without the support of a team of tireless volunteers, who run all the programmes and activities available.
Portico called out for their own DIY SOS, to a number of local businesses, hoping someone would answer the call to spruce up their tired surroundings. Bagnalls duly responded to their request, and on a dull Saturday morning, together we managed to transform the tired buildings into a green and prosperous looking beacon once again. The Bagnalls team, redecorated the outside of Portico Vine’s club in their team colours of green and yellow, to bring a sense of pride back into this tight knit community club. Bagnalls are proud to help local causes, always available for those in need of a helping hand and we wish Portico Vine the best of luck for next season. C’mon The Panthers!
