Bagnalls was appointed to complete the internal redecoration works to 6 bedroom blocks at Hazebrouck Barracks in Arborfield. The bedrooms totalled 642 and were a combination of 1, 4 and 8 man bedrooms. Working in this high security area, all Bagnalls operatives held an MOD security pass.

All works were carried out under CDM Regulations and Health and Safety was strictly maintained by the Bagnalls site foreman, Contracts Manager and external Health and Safety advisors. SEC also carried out regular Health and Safety site checks and audits.

In some of the blocks we were allowed accessed to a floor for one full week, during which time the occupants vactaed their bedrooms. Once this was completed the floor was handed back and the occupants could return to their rooms. In other blocks the programme was more restructed and we had to complete a given number of rooms per day, which had to be handed back, ready for occupation by the end of the day. As this timescale was so restricted quick drying, water based products, low in odour, were used which ensured areas were dry when the occupants returned at the end of the day. The bedrooms still contained private posessions and for this reason our painters were escorted at all times by a member of the military.

All areas were completed on time and with no problems. Since completion of these works Bagnalls has returned to undertake further works on site.
