Ground painting works at Lords
Bagnalls has been involved in painting the famous Lord's Cricket Ground, owned by MCC (Marleybone Cricket Club). Planning the work at Lord's, the 'Home of Cricket' and the game's spiritual 'headquarters' requires great flexibility to accommodate the Ground's busy schedule, including the npower Test matches and NatWest Series plus most of Middlesex's home games.
Bagnalls, one of the UK's leading specialist painting contractors, was initially chosen as a site contractor in 2008 based on its experience as a decorative contractor and its management and technical support. MCC's first requirement was to understand the costs and complexity of the painting maintenance schedule so Bagnalls surveying team undertook a full site survey. Each stand was inspected and a comprehensive and detailed analysis was presented to the Estates Department. This then provided the basis for all works moving forward.
The carefully selected Bagnalls site team of directly employed painters are painting and redecorating each area of the ground including the Grand Stand mast, main stands and stairwells.
A very important element of the project is to work closely with Lord's in-house maintenance staff and other contractors to ensure there is no disruption to the many cricket matches and events held at Lord's throughout the year.
Bob Diaper, Estates Manager for MCC, said "Bagnalls site management is excellent; their site foreman always keeps me updated of the programme of works. They can be relied on to undertake their works safely and offer flexibility in line with our very busy sports schedule."
