We have provided a comprehensive concrete repairs service to customers in the South East for more than 25 years. In addition, we offer epoxy floor coatings, protective exterior coatings and building refurbishment services.

To undertake repair work to concrete substrates, we investigate, survey and diagnose the structural defects of a building and advise on the long term solutions available. We carry out thorough concrete testing and surveys to ascertain the root cause of the deterioration. Then, working with our supply chain of BBA approved concrete repair specifiers, provide cost effective solutions to restore and protect your buildings.

The cause of deterioration is normally weathering which results in spalling, where the concrete delaminates due to corrosion (rusting) of the steel underneath. This is normally caused by the ingress of contaminants such as water, carbonation and chlorides where the steel is close to the surface due to the weathered concrete surface.

We will undertake the required concrete repair by cutting out the old concrete, cleaning the steel, priming the exposed surface and making sure the area is totally decontaminated before reinstating the concrete with mortar.

To prevent further spalling in other areas it is recommended to apply a Fairing coat to the entire surface, which is a dense cementatious screed, normally 2mm thick – which is equivalent to applying 20mm of concrete, for that added surface protection.

This can be further enhanced by applying an anti-carbonation coating. Bagnalls are BBA approved contractors for all the leading product manufacturers, namely, FOSROC, Sika and SBD.

We can also apply epoxy floor coatings, either 2 pack or single pack products to provide durable surfaces for warehouse floors. Concrete floor coatings are applied in high traffic areas and specifications chosen to suit.
