The Health Benefits of Painting

Incorporating the optimal shades of colour in differing environments can have dramatic effects on patients and visitors to hospitals. Using the most appropriate colour palette can help reduce the stress a patient experiences in a clinical setting.

Bagnalls works with leading paint manufacturers to produce individual colour schemes to enhance the environment in which health care and healing takes place. Painting is a low cost option for revitalising an environment.

Of course, maintaining high levels of hygiene is of paramount importance and the paint finishes must be able to withstand rigorous cleaning regimes. Acrylic matt emulsion is the most commonly used paint in high traffic areas and wards as it is 'low odour', washable and easy to wipe clean. In addition, specialist hygienic coatings are regularly applied by our teams (e.g. coatings manufactured by Liquid Plastics Limited) that are highly elastomeric and contain ingredients that prevent the growth of mould, bacteria and fungi on their surface.

Our dedicated teams of painters will visit site and undertake work to your requirements:

  • * With minimal disruption to the hospital staff, patients and general public.
  • * Cordoning off work areas to create safe areas of work
  • * Ensure safe access and egress at all times
  • * Applying the most appropriate coatings for the hospital environment.
