Bagnalls can help make the difficult task of finding the right contractor to work in a care environment easy.  You need to choose a contractor that understands the complex requirements of resident care, minimising disruption to daily routines, ensuring safe working areas and maintaining tidy environments.

We deliver our services through dedicated teams of painters who are directly employed and have received specific training in working in occupied premises. We have recently introduced Dementia Awareness and design for dementia training for those decorators assigned to residential properties, where this is requested.

Our works are carried out to ensure minimal disruption to residents and staff, providing a high standard of customer care that respects the needs of vulnerable residents.

We ensure we get the basics right. Efficient project timelines, full adherence to your security policy, open communication, the same team throughout a project and an assurance of satisfaction at the end of your project.

Furthermore, we not only provide our services to individually owned care homes and residential properties but also national groups with multiple residences through our Special Projects division.  We can provide the service you need to improve your local community facility or deliver a cyclical maintenance painting and redecoration programme to your UK portfolio of properties, with an equal level of customer care throughout.

Painting and decorating has a positive impact on residential spaces – especially for patients with dementia.  Our Contracts Management team, along with the support of our paint supply chain can advise on the benefits of:

  • Tonal differences which help residents distinguish toilet doors from other doors, increasing their independence.
  • Using paints with differing light reflective values to subtly differentiate corridors and changes in levels to reduce the risk of falling and improve wayfinding.
  • Colour and contrast can also help achieve visual perspective and an understanding of the space, whilst matt or low-sheen finishes reduce reflection and shadows – all improving a resident’s ability to navigate.
  • Restricted areas can be camouflaged by blending the access door colour into the wall colour.

We regularly receive feedback from customers regarding the positive and helpful attitude of our site supervisors and painters. Our teams understand the need for kindness and consideration to others when working in care home and residential environments.

We will deliver our services to suit you, our customer, in a flexible and considered manner.  Whether you want a small team of two decorators to work quietly and unobtrusively, or a team of six painters to finish an area within a tight timescale.  No matter what, we will be considerate of the emotional and physical wellbeing of the residents.
