New Build Painting - the subcontractor you can rely on

Bagnalls has a breadth of experience working on new build projects with main contractors who support the company's philosophy of quality, reliability, safety and partnering.

We have undertaken the painting works on many new build projects for leading building contractors, such as Bovis Lend Lease, Skanska and Carillion. Our PPM (Painting Project Management) team was established to specifically handle new build painting projects which are quite different in nature and complexity to ongoing maintenance painting works.

We can support you from design and planning stage with our knowledge of painting products through to project completion and beyond with whole life cycle maintenance solutions.

Projects we have been involved with range from PFI Hospitals in Manchester, the Midlands and North East to Building Schools for Future (BSF) projects across the whole of Northern England. Other projects include nationwide work on university student accommodation, MOD (Defence) work and residential apartment blocks.

Past performance and customer feedback confirms that our project management exceeds that of our competitors in project completion and meeting labour requirements. Our Quality Management system is registered to ISO 9001:2008 and our Environmental Management system to ISO 14001:2004, providing a further level of assurance to customers that their project is being fulfilled to exacting standards.

Our ability to meet the needs of main contractors is also substantiated as we now hold Platinum CSCS cardholder status, meaning more than 90% of our site based personnel are CSCS cardholders, a pre-requisite for working on new build sites.

We further support new build painting partnerships by undertaking sample, benchmark areas, mobilising trained personnel with CSCS cards, developing the most appropriate paint specification with our supply chain partners, working proactively with other trades, offering flexibility with regard to sequencing of painting works and taking into consideration the environmental impacts of our service provision.

Safety is Bagnalls' number 1 priority. Our workforce will abide by the site rules stated at induction and proactively support and comply with site procedures such as Near Miss, Accident reporting and PPE requirements.

By providing dedicated site teams, our workforce will understand how to adapt to the constantly changing work faces and access routes. They will ensure that their own work areas are clearly defined and cordoned off as necessary and coordinate with other trades accordingly. We directly employ all our painters and invest in their ongoing training and development. We can utilise the resources from our 15 branches nationwide, giving us access to over 500 directly employed painters and decorators.

We believe in providing a quality service to a defined standard in the most economic, efficient and effective way. Clear cost savings will be identified through reduced administration, damage limitation (zero defects), increased productivity, dedicated site teams, sequence of working and programming.
