Key personnel from City of York’s Asset Management Group visited Bagnalls Painting Academy in Doncaster in July 2009.
The visit was organised to allow Bagnalls to demonstrate its commitment to the training and development of apprentices as well as testing innovative new products by leading paint manufacturers.A number of demonstrations were undertaken including anti-graffiti products Easy On and Easy Off, paper hanging and working at height using the Microlite Ladderfix System. The main topic of conversation was the environment and the significant progress in paint technology that is being made to meet the requirements of the 2010 legislation. Bagnalls has supported the drive for more environmentally friendly paints by undertaking blind testing of products in the academy and on site, and offering fundamental feedback to the paint manufacturers.
Steve Lawson (Senior Projects Surveyor) of City of York Council said “It’s great to see apprentices from York being trained in paper hanging and working safely off ladders. The commitment made by contractors, such as Bagnalls, to training supports the council’s targets for quality, customer satisfaction and innovation.”
