Johnstone’s Kind Donation Supporting Apprentice Training

Bagnalls | 17 September

Leading coatings manufacturer Johnstone’s has given our apprentices a fantastic helping hand to learn one of the key skills in their painting and decorating apprenticeship, hanging wallpaper. To perfect the techniques involved requires a great deal of time and effort. However, with Johnstone’s kind donation of dozens of rolls of wallpaper from its current collection, the apprentices can have a go at paper hanging without worrying about making a few mistakes along the way.The donated wallpaper is in a range of different thicknesses, patterns, colours and styles, which all helps to challenge the developing skills of the apprentices. Bagnalls foreman Geoff Williams is sharing his 50 years of industry experience with the apprentices as part of their ongoing training.David Sunderland, Group Technical & Training Manager, said: “Each apprentice attends our academy during their first, second and third year of training. We are delighted with the range of papers that Johnstone’s have donated as this will allow us to match the wallpaper with the level of ability that each apprentice should be reaching during their apprenticeship training.”
