In support of our painting partnership with Regenda Housing, Bagnalls and Dulux hosted a Community Paintbrush Training workshop at the Woodlands Close Residents Hut in Rossendale. Keen residents learnt to apply Dulux paint and hang wallpaper under the expert guidance of two of our senior foremen. Dressed in overalls and armed with rollers and brushes, each of the residents took turns in learning the trade. The event was also supported by the local Regenda management team, who also had a go at papering and decorating.
Mike Worrall, Bagnalls Branch Manager said “We have a long history of working with our customers and giving back to the communities in which we work, traditionally this has been done with paint donations or even by providing a decorator for a day to redecorate a community centre, like this one. However, on this occasion we thought we would take a more hands on approach and involve the local residents and teach them some practical skills that they could apply in their own homes.”
The workshop was a real success with unanimous agreement from all the residents who attended. Each resident received a start up painting kit and Dulux Trade voucher to set them on their way.
