Bagnalls continued investment in apprentices has been recognised by Family Business United founder, Paul Andrews, “We have been looking for individuals that have already made a difference in the role that they perform, have stood out and been recognised by their family business employers. All of the finalists are great ambassadors for apprentices across the UK and we are delighted to be able to recognise their achievements.”
As a fifth generation, family owned and managed business celebrating 140 years in the painting industry in 2015, Bagnalls have always invested in the next generation of employees and identified those apprentices that demonstrate a real flair and commitment to the painting and decorating trade.
The Bagnalls finalists in the inaugural Family Business Apprentice of the Year competition are Joel Mortlock, Troy Sanderson and Connor Smith, who have all demonstrated their painting and decorating competencies on site, in college and at Bagnalls bespoke Painting Academy.
David Sunderland, Group Technical & Training Manager added “All three of these apprentices have shown not only the skills that are required to be an excellent decorator but also the traits to become good foremen. We are not just training apprentices to be accomplished tradesmen but also ambassadors for safety, quality workmanship and customer care.”
The winner of the Apprentice award will be announced in London on June 8th.
