Bagnalls has further strengthened its position as a leading Painting and Decorating Contractor to UK TOCs (Train Operating Companies), Main Contractors and Network Rail. Following a recent audit Bagnalls has been awarded the maximum five stars in the RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme) audit (formerly known as Link-up).
Bagnalls has been audited for several years by Achilles’ auditors and has always achieved Qualified via Audit status to be able to work on the rail infrastructure with its own directly employed PTS (Platform Track Safety) painters and decorators. This industry managed scheme ensures that any company working on the rail infrastructure has not only a competence management system to meet Network Rail standards but also an ongoing commitment to safety and training of its personnel.
In 2015, Bagnalls also achieved RCC (Rail Contractor Certificate) after successfully meeting the additional requirements of the RIPS (Rail Infrastructure Planning Scheme) requirements and are listed on Network Rail Safety Central. This was on the back of an Industrial Prize win at the 2015 PDA (Painting & Decorating Association) Awards where Bagnalls were national winners for the industrial coating works delivered at Nottingham Hub Railway Station for Vinci Construction.
Bagnalls are committed to the Network Rail Board’s vision of ” Everyone Home Safe Everyday.” Joanne Gualda, Director, said “By successfully achieving the high standards of the RISQS accreditation, Bagnalls can continue to deliver its full range of painting, decorating and industrial coatings services to the rail industry. We achieved 4 stars in 2014, which was the highest score available following the 2014 audit protocol changes and in 2015 we are proud to say we have now achieved a 5 star rating. Not only does the audit demonstrate we have thorough knowledge and understanding of the rail industry’s current requirements but that we are continuously investing in the training of our directly employed painters and improving our processes to define the expectations of painting contractors in the future.”
