Four first year apprentices had their first training module at the Bagnalls Painting Academy in Doncaster. Apprentices from the local Leeds and Shipley branches were the first apprentices of 2016 to use the academy. Although they have worked for Bagnalls for a few months their painting skills are still in the early development stages, however, the promise shown with the work produced is very encouraging. They practised the age old requirements of stripping wallpaper and cleaning the surface of glue and other contaminants so that it emulsion could be applied. In addition, they learnt the art of cutting in and around fireplaces and light switches and one eager apprentice had a go at a design. A promising start to the year – well done!
