Cadent Gas AGIs

07 September 2016

Bagnalls is a long standing approved contractor to Cadent Gas (formerly part of National Grid), having worked for this major utility company for many years. We continue to meet their requirements for expert painting in very complex and diverse environments. We work across the whole of Cadent Gas’ Gas and Electric infrastructure providing specialist coatings and general maintenance works.

To be approved to work in such high risk environments requires an ongoing commitment to the competency and skill development of our directly employed operatives. We meet the specific requirements of Cadent Gas with regard to competent site supervision, site operatives, safe systems of work, environmental management and project delivery.

Projects include coating works to substations, AGIs (above ground installations) and Pipe crossings. Each project is individually assessed by a competent Contracts Manager, experienced in meeting the demands of Cadent Gas. They ensure that: all permissions to work on site have been granted prior to the commencement of any works; where necessary, fixed scaffolds are fully encapsulated to prevent any debris from contaminating the local environment, especially when working over waterways and that sites have the required security measures in place to prevent access by inappropriate third parties.

We work closely with paint manufacturers such as Hempel Paints to determine the most appropriate specification for each project. Ensuring that surface preparation, including grit blasting, is undertaken to the required standard before any coating system is applied. We have approved scaffolding contractors who are engaged to meet the high standards expected of Cadent Gas and work together with steel fabricators to provide bespoke access deterrent measures for each project.
