Bagnalls were commissioned to deliver refurbishment to the Sydney Building at Bath Spa to accommodate the university’s growing need for IT resources. The existing IT facilities were constrained and so major changes were specified to the existing IT Office and kitchen area. As part of the refurbishment works, Bagnalls project managed the removal of structural and timber stud partitions to create a larger IT office and installed new suspended ceilings, lighting, electric trunking and sockets and fitted new carpet and radiators. The original kitchen area was completed ripped out and a further partition wall removed to create another larger office, which then had to be fully refurbished to the same high specification as the main IT office. And not wanting to deny the IT department their need for a cup of coffee, an existing student bedroom was converted into a new kitchen facility. The final element of this project was to strip out an en-suite bathroom and bedroom furniture from another student bedroom and fully refurbish the space into an individual manager’s office. All works were delivered to programme, budget and quality expectations.
