Paul Andrews, Founder of Family Business United asked for a small act of kindness from family businesses and this is just a few of the kind donations received: £2,000 in monies raised, 28 new sleeping bags, 100+ jumpers/coats, 100 pairs of thick socks, 200 bars of soap, 2 boxes of plants, 6 boxes of fresh fruit, lots of toiletries and loads of tins of food.
Paul said “We spend all year championing the family business sector, a sector that would not exist without the families behind the businesses, and it seemed a logical fit when looking for a cause, to support the homeless. In many cases, family support networks, for whatever reason, have broken down, and people move away to find a better future and sadly things don’t work out as planned. We wanted to make sure that through our campaign this year that we made a difference and provided some comfort to those that are not surrounded by family and love this year.
In all, there is a transit van full of items to be distributed. We gave the plants to some retirement homes, fresh food to a hospice and some deprived schools and the rest is going to the homeless on Wednesday evening. It has been amazing! We thank all the family businesses for their support with this cause.”
We hope our heartfelt donation of five sleeping bags helped in some small way.
