This beautiful property, with stunning views, located on the remote Wrynose Pass is a National Trust property, which has been leased by the University of Leeds, since 1947. It is basically a “Bunk House” which is used as a base for groups taking part in outdoor pursuits.
Over the years it has been subjected to harsh weather conditions and was in need of a refresh. As Bagnalls are the incumbent painting contractor at the University of Leeds we agreed to carry out the external painting of the property as part of our Community Paintbrush Scheme, a charitable initiative we use to deliver our commitment to corporate social responsibility.
The external walls were in a state of disrepair, the masonry needed to be scraped, spot primed and then coated with two coats of breathable paint. The windows, doors and gutters were scraped, primed, undercoated and glossed. The results are stunning and the property stands out from miles away.
Our two operatives, both apprentice trained, from our Leeds Office spent five days “bunking” in the house and transforming the outside to its original glory. They showed true dedication as there was no TV and no Wi-Fi, so occasionally they worked until 10.00 pm at night to keep themselves busy. Thankfully the weather was fantastic and they had the foresight to take their own BBQ and bikes so they were self-sufficient and kept themselves fit.
