Following a competitive tender process, Bagnalls were appointed by the Managing Surveyors to undertake the external redecorations to this late C19th terrace, in affluent Belgravia, for the prestigious Cadogan Estates.
Works included the painting of external windows and render in a Dulux specification, brick repairs, concrete repairs and extensive repairs to leadwork on the property. Additionally, we managed the removal and replacement of marble steps leading up to the front doorway, completed by a specialist sub-contractor.
Bagnalls stripped back the front elevation railings to bare metal and re-applied a Dulux Metalshield paint system. This was carried out whilst the adjacent pavement was in use by the general public, so particular attention was paid to safety and the protection of passers-by.
There was a dedicated site foreman on the project who nurtured a close liaison with the residents to arrange the redecoration of all the opening edges of the sash windows, and maintain the safety of the residents’ property.
Bagnalls consulted with Kensington and Chelsea council to arrange a short-term parking suspension, scaffolding license and temporary closures to the pavement during scaffold erection, dismantling and site mobilisation.
Due to restricted access to work on the rear elevation Bagnalls’ Surveyor and Contract Management team liaised with the school behind the property to arrange access for our scaffolders, this was carried out at weekends and over school holidays to minimise any disruption.
