Bagnalls were tasked by FirstPort to revitalise the residential properties at Wenallt Mansions, in Cardiff.

The Internal communal areas had a full facelift, changing the colour scheme from a moody grey to a fresh magnolia. The walls, ceilings and woodwork were fully prepared, prior to the new coatings being applied. Ceilings had two coats of Dulux Vinyl Matt in white and the walls had two coats of Dulux Diamond Matt in magnolia. The woodwork received two coats of Dulux Satinwood in white.

Externally, all high level rendered areas were cleaned using an Anti-fungal wash from Sandtex, a light jet wash and finally two coats of Sandtex Ultra Smooth Masonry paint, in magnolia.

We used both Z4S and Z80 mobile elevated platforms, to ensure safe access to clean all the guttering, soffits, fascia boards and UPVC windows, using Sandtex UPVC cleaner. The Juliet balconies were suitably prepared and then spot primed before two coats of Rustoleum CombiColour were applied to the metal work, and Sadolin Extra durable woodstain to the handrails.

The bin stores were fully cleaned down using a jet-wash combined with an anti-fungal cleaner, before having two coats of Sadolin Extra applied. The car park lines and numbers were extremely weathered, these received two coats of chlorinated rubber paint, to demarcate the areas once again, including the disabled spaces and bicycle areas.

Once the contracted works were completed the operatives, in agreement with the customer, offered to re-coat the exterior path lights and handrail, to finish off the decorations.

The residents were kept informed of the programme of works, at all times, this resulted in the contract running to time and resident satisfaction.
