Every year our branches hold Safety Awareness days to continuously improve the level of knowledge our site based people have on health and safety matters. Obviously, getting the message across can be difficult when the subjects range from asbestos awareness, working at height and manual handling. Our Ellesmere Port branch decided to add a little twist to their day by holding a quiz to identify COSHH and Health & Safety symbols. They split into four teams and nominated a charity of choice. There were four winners on the day but as one of our painters has a child suffering from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Type 2, all four groups kindly decided that the monies raised should be combined and donated to The Little Princess Trust. On receiving the donation, a representative from The Little Princess Trust said “Thank you so very much for you hard work and wonderful support. We are truly grateful.”
Not only was essential health and safety information learnt and a very deserving charity received £200 but the skills of Kev Travers, as Question Master was enjoyed by all and made for a great team bonding event.
