It’s election time at the PDA!
The PDA (Painting and Decorating Association), our industry’s trade body, is holding elections for its Management Board and you should get involved.
There are representatives from every member category from self employed decorators to national painting contractors and several board members have already been re-elected. This includes our very own Stephen Bagnall, the managing director of Bagnalls who has resumed his well-deserved position on the board.
But there are still positions open and many keen individuals putting themselves forward for the election, which closes on Friday 16th November. Chief executive of the PDA, Neil Ogilvie, is encouraging every member company to use their vote and have their say.
Stephen Bagnall, who has always been an advocate for the painting and decorating industry, and who has represented PDA members on the Construction Industry Joint Council and was president of the International Union of Painting Contractors in 2008, had this to say:
‘It is important that the PDA has a strong Membership Board so that together we can lobby the best interests of the member companies, both large and small, to ensure that the needs of our specialist craft are heard and acted on.’
