Bagnalls asked to make National Maritime Museum wing ‘shipshape’

Bagnalls | 5 November

Bagnalls are delighted to have begun work on the full external redecoration of the Park Row Wing, the administrative offices of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich’s UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The work comprises removal of defective paint, masonry repairs/ extensive surface preparation, timber surveys & repairs, before recoating all previously painted surfaces in accordance with the Dulux specification.

Royal Museums Greenwich were understandably very thorough in their evaluation of tenderers, and via a Qualitative and Quantitative Tender process, Bagnalls were deemed to have a professional methodology, competitively priced, could mobilise for an imminent start and had a high level of experience in historical building restoration.

Scaffolding has now commenced, this has been spilt into 6 overlapping phases to enable partial handovers of the scaffolding and allow us to commence works as soon as possible.
