Simple Things Make All The Difference

Bagnalls | 29 November

We have just completed some redecoration works at a Salvation Army home that cares for people living with dementia.  Choosing the right colours on walls and floors is so important for wayfinding, add a little colour by painting the residents’ bedroom doors in a colour that is familiar to them and an amazing transformation in a simple corridor can take place.  Dulux Trade Colour experts made sure that the specification met the requirements of the Buildings Regulations Approved Document M, which provides guidance in line with the Equalities Act. It is essential to choose the right combination of  dark colours with a low light reflective value (LRV) on certain surfaces to contrast with bright colours, such as white, which are classed as high value colours.

The staff and residents were delighted with the finished outcome and couldn’t speak highly enough of our team of painters who accommodated and respected all the instructions of the staff to minimise disruption. Great job, well done!
