It’s been 15 years since Kevin first walked through the doors of the Bagnalls Training Academy, in Doncaster, as an apprentice. Today he is back visiting as a Senior Foreman to help with changes to our induction process for new staff members. Kevin is an example of how Bagnalls commitment to investing in apprentices and staff training has resulted in a loyal and experienced colleague who is committed to delivering the best possible service to our customers.
Kevin was asked about his time as an apprentice at Bagnalls and what it means to him now, he said “Having left school with few qualifications, an apprenticeship programme was a chance for me to do something with my life and gain a skill. I had started training with another company but half way through the company folded and so I applied to Bagnalls. Not only did they give me the opportunity to complete my apprenticeship, they also provided additional training and allowed me to gain experience across a broad spectrum of roles.
Returning here today allows me to reflect on how far I have come. That is credit to Bagnalls, believing in their people and promoting personal development. You don’t have to be naturally gifted, but if you’re prepared to work hard, both individually and as part of a team then anyone can achieve their full potential.”
