Picton Reading Room Comes Top!

23 August 2022

We’re delighted to announce that our work on the historic Picton Reading Room was recently announced as the winner of the Highly Decorative category at the PDA Annual Trophy Awards 2021!

Our work on the project covered the full gamut of technical painting and decorating requirements, from working at height using scaffolding, spider booms and a twenty-tonne crane to using specialist processes to take care of the Grade II-listed building’s historic features. Throughout the project, strict health and safety protocols were adhered to, and our team were able to deliver a superb standard of quality on the job all whilst meeting the project’s strict timescale.

It was great to see members of the Bagnalls team attend the award ceremony and receive the award on behalf of everyone who worked on the project, thus recognising the hard work and professionalism that went into the project. Following the awards ceremony, we were also pleased to pay a visit to the customer on-site to share the good news and thank them for their support during the works!

Photographed below are Mark Wareing (Liverpool Central Library Manager) with Kev Travers (Supervisor on the project) and Bernie Smith (Contract Manager) standing directly underneath our work inside the library during our post-awards visit to the location.

Mark Wareing commented; “The project was a well-deserved winner! I have worked at the library for over 20 years and this is only the second time I recall the Picton Reading Room being decorated. We are all pleased with the redecoration work.”

A big well done and thank you to all our staff who worked on the project! Your hard work has paid off.

On top of this brilliant news, we have recently received news that our work on this heritage building continues to collect accolades in the form of another major award! Stay tuned as we’ll be sharing details in the near future.
