Celebrating our RoSPA Covid Workplace Champion

24 February 2022

Congratulations to our Head of SHEQ, Becky Slater, for being recognised by RoSPA as a COVID Workplace Champion. Her dedication, expertise, passion and unwavering commitment to responding to the ever-changing CLC (Construction Leadership Council) and Government guidance was exemplary. Her hard work ensured that we kept colleagues, customers, sub-contractors and communities safe during the COVID pandemic.

RoSPA received over 300 nominations, from 19 countries, across a wide range of industry sectors. Becky said on receiving her certificate: “I am honoured to have been nominated. I had only just joined Bagnalls when we were all told we had to lock down apart from essential services. I knew I needed to respond immediately and that a lot of colleagues and customers were looking to me for answers. With the support of the leadership team, Bagnalls were able to instigate vital measures within a very short period of time, allowing us to undertake essential work to maintain the utility infrastructure as well as decorating services to two Nightingale hospitals.”

Joanne Gualda, Director, nominated Becky for this award; “Becky’s fortitude during the pandemic was amazing. Her individual effort allowed the company to remain abreast of the key coronavirus risks and ensured we instigated measures to keep people safe. We were so fortunate to have her on our team – her commitment was unbelievable. I thought she deserved to be nominated and am so pleased that she has been recognised by RoSPA as our Covid Workplace Champion.”
