Wanted – Enthusiastic person to join our Management Training Scheme for a national painting and decorating contractor.

The Role

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to be trained in all aspects of project managing painting and decorating contracts, including customer liaison, surveying, estimating, cost control and managing projects from initial enquiry through to completion and final account agreement.

Your Development

You will be given support by a mentor to help you to develop.  You’ll be given the opportunity to train and get further qualifications, alongside practical experience, dealing with the “hands on” running of projects in a busy contracting office.

As you progress through your first few years in your career with Bagnalls you will have the opportunity to manage your own jobs and be responsible for developing your own customer base.  If you are successful in the role, we will encourage you to progress further within our business.

You

The role of Trainee Manager would suit you if you are looking to build a long term career within the construction industry.  You may be a school leaver or graduate looking for a career as a project manager or surveyor.  Alternatively, you may have some trade experience and are now looking to progress into a management role.

We will provide full support and training to allow you to build on your previous skills and experience.  More important than your academic qualifications will be your commitment to succeed, an ability to put the needs of the customer first and a positive approach to continuous learning.  We do ask that you have the following skills and qualifications:

Essential Criteria:

  • At least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C including in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • A commitment to developing a career within the construction industry
  • A passion for delivering the highest quality customer service
  • Emotional and intellectual ability to respond to customers’ needs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good spatial and numerical ability
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to show initiative and to work independently
  • Ability to learn about all aspects of the business quickly

Desirable Criteria:

  • Some construction-related experience or training
  • Full driving licence or working towards one (Please note that you will need to obtain a full driving licence during your time on the training scheme).
