Bagnalls’ Community Paintbrush Donation Aids Bradford Projects

01 July 2023

We launched our Community Paintbrush scheme in 2012. We aim to support local causes and charitable projects by donating paint, supplying volunteers and fundraising. Bagnalls also recycles and reuses leftover paint where possible.

We’ve provided support to a variety of projects over the years. Our donations have helped refresh bikes ahead of the Tour De Yorkshire and allowed charities to support the needs of asylum seekers.

Our latest donation has helped bring colour to some exciting projects in Bradford. The projects also received additional support from our partner Crown Trade Paints.

We’re thrilled to have been able to help The Valley Project in Holme Wood. This adventure playground provides a safe space for children to grow, develop and make friendships. The Valley Project tackles the loneliness and inequalities local children face. They aim to help children develop emotionally in an educational environment.

Children are able to build dens, play in treehouses and enjoy time together. The Valley Project sources safe ‘loose parts’ from local businesses to provide the children with sustainable building materials. They also offer each child campfire-cooked meals and snacks.

Our paint donation has helped the team to paint their Music Wall in bright, engaging colours. The wooden wall features pots, pans and other kitchen utensils that the children can use to make their own music.

We’ve also donated paint to The Big Swing Adventure Playground project in Bradford. This playground also provides a safe outdoor space for children to explore, engage with others and be themselves. Organised by Play Bradford, the project provides free play sessions as well as tasty food and drinks!

Featuring everything from climbing walls to trampolines, the playground is a big hit with local families. But the main attraction is The Big Swing! We’re thrilled to see our paint donation is being used to decorate the wooden slats around the huge swing in bright, striped colours. The design truly helps the swing stand out and will no doubt make it even more engaging for visitors.

We’re so proud to have been able to support these excellent projects providing children with safe spaces to explore, develop and have fun.
