BIADS Benefits From Bagnalls’ Community Paintbrush Scheme

The Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group (BIADS) is a brilliant organisation founded by the people of Barnsley. The group supports local people who have any form of dementia, as well as their families and friends.

Bagnalls was asked to provide some painting work for BIADS by our customer Amey Plc and we agreed to complete the project free of charge via our Community Paintbrush scheme.

Our team refreshed the look of one of the charity’s rooms in a soothing acrylic eggshell shade. We started by preparing the walls accordingly, before decorating all surfaces and reveals. We also decorated the skirting boards, sash windows and door with an undercoat formulation from our partner PPG, followed by a gloss white finish.

The room our team painted is to be used as a relaxing, sensory space to help those living with dementia if they become agitated or upset.

We hope the charity and those it helps find the room calming and enjoyable to use.
