Bagnalls Donates to The Progress Housing Community

28 October 2026

Bagnalls’ Ellesmere Port branch is pleased to have donated four dartboards to the Progress Housing Group, via our Community Paintbrush programme. These dartboards will be used across four of the group’s independent living locations, providing residents with another way to connect.

We also helped to repaint the community centre in Saltcotes, ensuring this space remains welcoming and warm to all who use it.

Brian King, Contracts Surveyor at Progress Housing Group, said: “A huge thank you to Bagnalls for donating the dart boards to four of our schemes and giving our community centre a fresh new look.

“The bright, refreshed space helps create a welcoming environment for tenants to come together, take part in activities and connect with their neighbours.

“Sam, Contracts Manager at Bagnalls, has been wonderful and supportive with all our requests as part of social value.”

Sam Bethell, Contracts Manager at Bagnalls, said: “As a valued customer, Bagnalls was delighted to support Progress Housing Group’s social value offering to help improve the lives of the tenants.

“It was a privilege to donate the dartboards and paint the community centre to contribute to tenant wellbeing, provide entertainment and strengthen the sense of community.”

The Progress Housing Group team has told us that the tenants have really enjoyed being able to arrange darts nights in their communal areas and the social aspect that comes with this.

Linda, who lives in the Bolton Croft location, said: “There are eight of us who play on a Friday night and we have great fun. We previously had a dartboard bought by tenants, but that was worn out. As the communal area was being redecorated, Progress said they could supply a new one. This is great as it keeps the boredom away.”

Tony, also of Bolton Croft, added: “We organise something nearly every night here and we have a laugh. We enjoy fish and chip dinners, cards nights, dominoes, snooker and play games on the Wii. We also have games in the cupboard.

“We would rather be doing things than sit at home on our own, watching TV.”

It’s fantastic to hear that our donation has brought so much joy to the Progress Housing residents. We hope their darts nights continue to be a tenant favourite!
