Bagnalls Part of the Largest Campaign of Painters in Slovenia

Bagnalls is extremely proud to have taken part in this year’s Humanitarian Campaign in Slovenia, as part of a team organised by The Painting and Decorating Association (PDA). Two of our talented apprentices – Katie and Owen – travelled to the town of Dol pri Ljubljani with Joel – our Group Academy Tutor – to help paint a local school.
This year’s campaign has been one of the most successful so far, surpassing several milestones to become one of the largest campaigns of painters, not only in Slovenia, but in the whole of Europe! Now in its 22nd year, the Humanitarian Campaign is made possible by both the brilliant volunteers and the campaign’s sponsor, JUB – Slovenia’s oldest paint manufacturer.
JUB donated 2,700 litres of JUPOL paint, allowing the volunteers to give the school a quality refresh. A total of 135 dedicated painters worked together over a single day to paint 25 classrooms, bringing fresh pastel shades into the school. It is estimated that the value of work done throughout the entirety of this year’s campaign comes to an incredible €90,000.
Our team had such a brilliant time in Slovenia, helping to refresh the school and exploring Slovenian culture. Katie and Owen were two of 24 apprentices who travelled from various countries to take part in this campaign.
Katie commented, “I really enjoyed my time in Slovenia. This was such a unique opportunity and I’m pleased to have been able to give the local school a fresh coat of paint.” Owen agreed with Katie, saying, “It was a brilliant trip! Working alongside other painters and sharing experiences and tips was really rewarding – plus, the school looks great!”
Joel was especially pleased with the positive way in which our apprentices represented Bagnalls, commenting, “I am very proud of both Katie and Owen for their approach to this project – they weren’t afraid to get involved and helped to produce a really great finish for the local school.
“We’ve had a great time on this trip and I’m looking forward to next year when we can hopefully help out again!”
