Emmanuel Church In Loughborough

01 February 2023

Emmanuel Church was built over a two year period and completed in 1837. Emmanuel is part of the Church of England and serves a large vibrant evangelical Christian community near the centre of Loughborough.

Bagnalls were contacted directly by the custodians of Emmanuel Church who were looking for a competitive quote to redecorate the main church and associated rooms.

Keim paints had already prepared a specification for the project including a contemporary colour palette for a traditional setting.

Accessing the vaulted ceiling, the balcony area and the high alter of the church, was the most complex aspect of the project and a combination of 2 x scissor lifts and a 13 metre spider platform were used.

A team of 4 painters led by an experienced supervisor took 4 weeks to complete the programme of works.

Initially, floor protection and dust sheets were placed across the main work area prior to all substrates being properly prepared and minor repairs completed to plasterwork.

Once completed, two coats of the chosen Keim emulsion were applied across all the selected areas and Dulux Satinwood applied to woodwork.  The gold emblems on the ceiling were initially required to be cleaned only but Bagnalls recommended that they be repainted as well to finalise the stunning transformation.

The customer was overwhelmed with the finish and could not thank the site team enough for their care and professionalism during the course of the works.
