Kirsty Conquers The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge!
06 October 2025
She’s only gone and done it! The incredible Kirsty Stokes, Bagnalls’ HR and Learning Development Advisor, has completed The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in support of The Eve Appeal. We caught up with her for a chat about her brilliant achievement.
Why did you decide to take on The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge?
“I’ve been on a personal health, wellbeing and fitness journey for the last 18 months, and I wanted to push myself. This became my goal to work towards! It seemed like a real challenge, with the added benefit of being able to raise money for a fantastic cause along the way.”
What was the hardest part of the experience?
“Pushing myself to finish the third peak. Ingleborough is by far the most difficult of the three peaks and, unfortunately, it’s a case of best (and hardest) saved for last. With tired, heavy legs, I had to have a stern word with myself about halfway up!
“But, I’m extremely proud to say that I made it up the rest of the mountain and was rewarded with some truly incredible views and a real sense of achievement.”
How did you feel once you reached the final peak?
“I think you can tell from the photo of me at the top that I was very ready for it to be over at that point! It still took a further one-and-a-half hours to walk all the way back down, though!
“When we finally reached the end, I felt tired, relieved and very proud of myself. I met some amazing people on the walk, and to be able to complete this challenge alongside them was wonderful.”
How supportive has Bagnalls been throughout the challenge?
“Extremely. The support I’ve received from my colleagues and the company as a whole has been quite overwhelming. Although I always knew that I work with a lovely, kind group of people, their generosity during this experience has completely blown me away. Thank you, everyone.”
What advice would you give to someone considering taking on the challenge?
“Train! I hear stories of people going in with little to no training and, as someone who spent a lot of time preparing for this challenge, I don’t know how they manage it… it’s definitely not a walk in the park, but it’s absolutely worth it.
“I also went on holiday two days after completing the challenge, and that very much helped my recovery!”
