Meet Becky Slater: Head of SHEQ

Becky is our Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ). She has been with the company for over four years and ensures Bagnalls always upholds the highest standards of health and safety.

What first attracted you to Bagnalls?

Becky: The fact it’s a long-running, family-owned business with long-serving employees gave me the impression it was a great company – and I was proved right! I also love the fact that Bagnalls has such a diverse range of customers across all types of industries.

What did you do before you worked for Bagnalls?

Becky: I worked in both the quarrying and manufacturing sectors, where I held both operational and safety-specific roles.

What is your favourite part of your job?

Becky: I enjoy working alongside such great people, as well as the diverse range of work I get to engage with.

What is your biggest achievement at Bagnalls?

Becky: I’m proud of the work I did during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping to guide the company from a health and safety perspective.

Do you have any advice for those considering a career in the painting and decorating industry?

Becky: Definitely give it a go! It’s a really interesting industry with a diverse customer base, so there’s always lots to learn.
