Meet Seren Ford: Business Development Manager
12 September 2025
Seren recently joined the Bagnalls team as a Business Development Manager. She’s already proving herself indispensable when it comes to maintaining positive customer relations and identifying new opportunities.
We caught up with Seren to find out more about her role and what she enjoys most about working for Bagnalls.
What first attracted you to Bagnalls?
I love the fact that Bagnalls is still a family business after five generations, and that it’s not just members of the Board that are family – the whole business is classed as one big family! From my very first day, I have really felt like part of the team – all of my colleagues offered to make me a cup of tea, which was so welcoming.
Bagnalls is just so friendly – there’s no office politics and no drama. We really are all one big family!
The positive messaging across Bagnalls’ socials also stood out to me when first applying for my role. The content is so employee-focused and not just all about the company. If an apprentice has done well, then they are acknowledged across all social platforms, which must be a great source of pride.
Similarly, when a particular site team has performed well, they are individually named and given a shoutout, alongside the customer’s appreciation, on social media. It’s so personal and positive!
How do you view the role of sales at Bagnalls?
My role is about so much more than just making phone calls or sending emails; it’s about getting the Bagnalls name out there. I like to head out of the office, meet customers and drop my Bagnalls business card off.
I like to think about what our customers really need and make sure that we can resolve their issues with our services.
What would you say to someone looking to join Bagnalls in a sales role?
This is not your average office job! While you will spend time in the office, making calls and researching prospects, you will also get the opportunity to get out of the office and meet customers. I love being able to meet customers, have great conversations about what painting and decorating services are required and discover how we can help.
You will also receive the support of the Contracts Manager and Branch Manager where needed – your colleagues at Bagnalls are always there to offer help and work with you to complete a project.
I would encourage anyone to consider a sales role with Bagnalls – I really enjoy my job and I absolutely love sales! Plus, if you want to do an apprenticeship in sales, Bagnalls will support you towards achieving this as well. The sky’s the limit!
