Virgin Trains

Bagnalls has worked for Virgin Rail on the West Coast Mainline franchise for many years. The works have to be planned in line with Virgin Rail’s requirements avoiding busy rush hour periods to minimise disruption to the travelling public and maintaining good levels of safety.
Stations are often painted concurrently, which means Bagnalls have to have the trained people and management in place to ensure that time limits can be met in line with the Virgin Rail franchise.
The works vary from the redecoration of intricate Victorian ironwork to general painting works to windows, railings, column bases and crowns carried out by our directly employed teams of trained ICATS (Industrial Coatings Applicator Training Scheme) and PTS (personal track safety) personnel. Mobile elevated work platforms and scissor lifts are often used to access the columns and windows due to ease of movement and working over obstacles, whilst ensuring the working areas are safely cordoned off and allowing the public access to key station areas.
