Bristol City Council

Bagnalls completed the external refurbishment and decoration to nearly fifty dwellings for Bristol City Council. Bagnalls were appointed as the Principal Contractor for this complex project, based not only on our competitive quote but also our past experience in being able to deliver similar projects to a high standard.
As Principal Contractor, Bagnalls provided a high level of knowledge and experience, together with planning and decisive management to ensure this project was completed to the detailed specification. The scope of works involved: scaffolding, PVC window replacement, decorations, roof and fence repairs.
A site office was situated in a communal facility, provided by the council, which was accessible to all residents. The location was excellent for building a good rapport between Bagnalls, the residents and any third parties impacted by the project.
There were between two and three subcontractors working for Bagnalls at any one time, which required a concurrent programme of works being closely managed to ensure the project ran smoothly. Every subcontract trade was pre-approved, using Bagnalls subcontractor verification process, prior to them commencing any works on site. Dulux provided an appropriate paint specification for the works and visited site regularly to ensure that all preparation and painting was carried out to meet their technical specification.
We dedicated an experienced site supervisor to the contract, who worked closely with the Contracts Manager and Client to deliver the project brief. Bagnalls and Bristol City Council had weekly progress meetings to make sure that any variations or changes were documented and agreed throughout the project. On completion of the works, a final close out meeting was held to ensure that the project specification had been achieved to the required high standard.
