Our experienced management and site teams ensure that painting services are delivered to the specified quality and within your time deadline. Our audited systems assure you that works are undertaken to the highest levels of safety and environmental requirements.
We dedicate the right team to each and every job, making sure through the Reset Competence Management system that each individual assigned to your project has the required competences to deliver the works, including PTS (Personal Track Safety) for rail work and IPAF licences for working off mobile elevated work platforms.
As the only national painting contractor fully signed up to the Reset Certification Scheme we are able to specify and confirm to you who will be working on your site prior to any paint being applied. You will be able to verify that our painters are directly employed by Bagnalls and view their training certificates, demonstrating our commitment to their ongoing development.
Bagnalls has provided first class painting services for over 135 years. We have an established and leading reputation in the industry and our focus on customer care has ensured that we deliver the services customers want year in, year out.
Our directly employed painters and decorators work for us throughout the year to meet the needs of our customers. Although our industry is highly seasonal with high volumes of work being undertaken in the summer months when externals require painting, we continue to employ our craftsmen throughout the winter months to further invest in their skill development and training.
Many of our customers ask us to deliver both their internal decorating needs. We apply flame retardant coatings to communal staircases and corridors to allow occupants of a building to escape before flames have time to spread. We apply hygienic coatings to laboratories, canteens and food preparation areas to allow for regular cleaning to be undertaken without affecting the integrity of the coatings. We work internally and externally, often working at height, applying industrial coatings to provide structural steelwork with protection against corrosion and the elements.
Many customers are now taking advantage of Bagnalls multi-site painting facility which delivers painting services to customers with a nationwide presence, most notably, housing associations, retail and leisure businesses.
Bagnalls has undertaken numerous office refurbishment projects over the years. As decorating contractors, we manage the whole decoration process for the customer, from out of hours working and security to the use of low odour paints so that personnel are not affected by smells the following day. We ensure that the correct specification of paint is chosen for life cycle maintenance, budgets and required levels of wear and tear. No two office refurbishment projects are the same and we will deliver a bespoke painting and decorating service to meet your requirements.
We receive specialist technical support from the leading paint manufacturers on the most suitable coatings for communal areas such as stairwells and corridors, in line with RRFSO: the Regulatory Reform [Fire Safety] Order which came into effect in 2006. This legislation confirms a duty on owners, managers of buildings and employers to carry out fire risk assessments. During the specification process we will work together with the chosen paint manufacturer to provide you with the most suitable products to reinstate sound surfaces to Class ’0′. This then allows the occupants, residents or employees in the building more time to get out in the case of a fire.
Building refurbishment projects can also be done where more than just painting, decorating and specialist coating work is required. We project manage the refurbishment project and with the support of carefully vetted subcontract partners we carry out the full spectrum of works.
We also undertake refurbishment work in the Retail sector and completed a very successful programme of works for Somerfield Supermarkets, through our Special projects Division. We managed the painting programme in over 900 stores. In the past, Somerfield have managed decorating projects on a store-by-store basis. This time round, to achieve economies of scale and ensure the same high standards throughout, they wanted to use a single company that could carry out all the work across the entire country and they chose Bagnalls.
We all need to work in environments which inspire us, we want to live in homes that are stylish and unique and we look forward to relaxing in rooms which have soothing colour palettes. This can all be achieved through the painting skills of decorating contractors working together with the world’s paint manufacturers. Together we use cutting edge technology to allow you to see what a room will look like in differing colour schemes, from fantasy turquoise to pomegranate red, before a tin of paint has even been opened.
The range of talents required by decorators is vast and developments in painting services such as spray painting and the use of eco-friendly paints must be embraced by a forward thinking painting contractor. Painting & decorating is a highly skilled job and many of Bagnalls’ personnel have undergone a 4 year apprenticeship to achieve the high standards required by the industry to become craftsmen painter and decorators.
Many of the schools, hospitals and leisure centres built in recent years have had input from colour experts. Research has proven that colour has a massive impact on a person’s mood and emotional well being. Gone are the days of magnolia and white in every school and hospital as more contemporary colours are applied.
We can help our customers choose the right colours for each and every aspect of a building from deep claret red in foyers to soothing pastels in classrooms. Colour can be used to create drama, conversation, relaxation and creative minds. This has led architects to play a more prominent role in not only the design of the building but also the interior painting schemes of a new build project.
Furthermore, many architects and designers are now working closely with the leading paint manufacturers and painting contractors such as Bagnalls to comply with the DDA regulations by developing decorative painting colour palettes to help with ‘way finding’. Interior painting is a very cost effective way of helping people with visual impairments find their way around hospitals, schools and other public facilities.
No matter what painting & decorating services are required by our customers we are able to source the most suitable products to meet their needs that is how we successfully work as painters and decorators for such a diverse range of customers from the National Trust and the British Museum to Severn Trent Water and National Grid.
Painting and decorating forms the backbone of our business. We are the longest established, national commercial painting company in the UK dating back to 1875. We undertake commercial painting for many customers in all types of environment, including the University of Leeds, Lord’s Cricket Ground, National Grid and the British Museum. We offer a wide range of specialist paint finishes, including interior decorating and the application of wallpapers produced by the country’s leading suppliers. Many of our customers require us to undertake their office and site based painting and decorating so we put together project plans to meet the individual needs of each and every customer. Bagnalls can be relied upon to deliver an all encompassing decorating service from spray finishes to traditional brush application.
In an ever competing world, our customers need to make sure that the first impression their customers get when they walk through the doors is a positive one. Clean lines, colourful substrates and a fresh feel are essential elements provided by Bagnalls as a commercial painter to help create a professional public image for many leading retail, corporate and leisure customers.
Our supply chain partnerships with all the leading paint companies and wallpaper manufacturers allow us to individualise every project and develop a bespoke programme of works. We ensure that what is important to you is delivered in your painting and decorating needs, this could mean choosing hard wearing paints which offer long lasting colour and scrub-ability in high traffic areas or applying flame retardant coatings to allow safe egress for occupants should a fire break out.
We are quite unique in the commercial painting industry as we directly employ all our painting personnel and operate out of 15 branch locations across the UK. This element of geographical coverage and trained personnel allows us to control our service provision much more effectively than contractors who subcontract out the labour element. This differentiates us from a number of commercial painters and gives our customers confidence in our ability to manage projects to time, quality and specification.
