Our very own Jane Potter, Branch Manager of Bagnalls in Leeds and York, was a Bronze finalist in the 1990 WorldSkills Olympics in Amsterdam. After being put forward by her tutor, she was chosen to represent the UK on the world stage, competing against some of the world’s top young painters and decorators.
Now, 30 years later, Jane has progressed within Bagnalls, doing great work to manage two of our Yorkshire branches and helping to lead our apprentices. Jane is now encouraging our current apprentices to follow in her footsteps and compete in the WorldSkills themselves.
Our dedicated apprenticeship training academy prepares our apprentices for the challenges they could face in competitions. They are given a design brief and an allotted amount of time and then evaluated on their core skills.
We are proud of Jane for her achievements in the industry and for passing the torch onto our ambitious and talented apprentices.
