Bagnalls Hangs Feature Wallpaper for Porthaven Care Homes

Bagnalls is proud to support Porthaven Care Homes with a long-standing programme of internal redecoration works. We were recently commissioned to complete a full internal refresh of the company’s Tonbridge Care Home – one of more than 23 Porthaven Care Homes, providing safe, secure and specialist care for residents across the UK.
These recent works included a complex painting pallet and beautifully intricate feature wallpaper. All Porthaven Care Home residents benefit from living within a caring environment, with generously appointed private bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms.
The residents can also enjoy inviting communal living spaces, including sitting rooms, restaurants, a café, a hairdressing salon and a nail bar, as well as a wellbeing room and private dining room!
Our programme of redecoration works spanned over three floors and was carried out while the home was open and operational, with residents continuing to safely occupy their rooms and communal areas.
Bagnalls appointed a site team of three painters, one of whom was a working Supervisor. All work areas were fully protected and cordoned off to eliminate any risk to residents, with health and safety remaining of paramount importance throughout the project.
Our Supervisor ensured safe walkways were maintained and diversions were put in place, in line with a weekly pre-agreed decorating schedule, which was then shared amongst staff and residents. Our Supervisor also liaised daily with the Porthaven Care Home Manager to ensure that our programme of works was coordinated appropriately.
It was of utmost importance to our team to ensure that any inconvenience to residents was minimised, allowing all scheduled events in the communal areas to take place as planned. In order to ensure high levels of health and safety throughout all works, we implemented a bespoke construction phase plan, which included a bespoke risk assessment and method statement.
All of our painters are fully trained in customer care and safeguarding. They are also experienced in working within occupied premises, where residents are elderly and/or vulnerable.
We love the aesthetic finish of this unique wallpaper! We hope the residents and staff enjoy this new look as much as we do.
