University West of England (UWE)

Bagnalls, regularly delivers regular painting and decorating projects for this outstanding university, undertaking a wide range of works during the vacation periods. Regular summer and Easter works require foresight and planning to ensure that we meet the university’s requirements, year after year.  A great deal of what we do is annual maintenance painting, however, we have been involved in new build projects as well.

One project was at the student village at Frenchay campus, constructed by Carillion Building and built to house nearly 2000 students.  The programme of painting works was developed to be completed in a phased sequence, to hand over finished units throughout the build phase to UWE.

Bagnalls set benchmark room samples displaying the type of finish, quality of workmanship and speed of delivery that could be achieved in a typical six-bedroom flat scenario, using the material specification.

Bagnalls liaised closely with Carillion to ensure that an effective, mutually agreed work sequence was implemented, which allowed the trades following the painting works adequate time to undertake their works to the agreed programme, these included, kitchen installation, suspended ceilings, floor finishes and doors.
