Bagnalls Triumphs at the FBU Family Business Day Awards!

11 October 2024

Bagnalls is thrilled to announce the recent success of two of our long-standing team members at the recent National Family Business Day Awards, hosted by Family Business United (FBU). Both received awards recognising their incredible contributions to both Bagnalls and the family business landscape.

The National Family Business Day Awards celebrates the UK’s vibrant family business sector, from long-established businesses, to brand-new start-ups and everything in between. We were excited to be able to nominate two wonderful members of team Bagnalls at this year’s awards – and even more excited when both members of our team received awards!

Richard Britten, our Group Operations Director, was honoured to receive an FBU Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating over 35 years of service with Bagnalls. Initially joining us as an apprentice painter, we are extremely proud that Richard is now a pivotal member of our board and shares his knowledge and experience across the Group.

Richard commented: “It’s a true honour to have been given such a prestigious award. It’s lovely to have my efforts at Bagnalls recognised and know that my colleagues value me and the work I do. I’m looking forward to many more years of success with the company I have been with for more than 35 years.”

Ellie Jobes, our HR Director, also received an award. In order to celebrate her ambition, determination and varied contributions, FBU created a brand-new awards category! Ellie is the inaugural winner of the brand-new NOW Generation Award – bestowed upon a family member who is making a significant contribution to their business.

Ellie said of her achievement: “I am proud and humbled to be honoured as a NOW Generation Ambassador. As the great, great granddaughter of Bagnalls’ founder, I’m pleased to be doing both my company and my family proud. A huge thank you to the whole Bagnalls family for their belief in me and unwavering support.”

Our Group Managing Director – and fifth-generation Bagnalls family member – Stephen Bagnall said: “Watching two of my colleagues receive the recognition they deserve at the FBU Family Business Day dinner was a moment of true pride.

“Ellie’s achievement is testament to the invaluable contributions she has made to our family business since joining in 2011. She is an integral member of our team. Richard’s award is a celebration of his long-standing commitment to Bagnalls and his extraordinary contributions, spanning over 35 years.

“Both Ellie and Richard are two exceptionally talented individuals who continue to make a significant impact on our family business every day. They truly embody the spirit of Bagnalls and should be very proud of everything they have achieved.”
